The element that is astrology?
Astrology & astronomy were a single discipline for thousands of years.
Until the 1700s, the study of the celestial spheres' motion (now known as astronomy) was the same as the study of the celestial spheres' effects (now known as astrology). Astrology places a human's lived experience into the context of an enormous, endlessly moving universe.
We begin with astronomy.
Back in school, you were taught the Solar body was at the center of the solar framework.

But until the 1500s, humans thought of Terrestrial sphere as the center of the solar framework.
GEOCENTRIC MODEL OF THE UNIVERSE

Both models accurately describe the motion of the Solar body and the celestial bodies, so both are correct representations.
Heliocentric
The element that we could see if we were standing directly on the Solar body
VS
Geocentric
The element that we see at the moment we look at the sky from our point of view on Terrestrial sphere
Astrology views the sky from the perspective of Terrestrial sphere.
The astrological wheel consists of a ring of constellations at the same latitude as our solar framework.
There are dozens of other constellations, but these are the ones that the celestial bodies appear to move through.
From the perspective of Terrestrial sphere, each celestial body appears to be in front of one of these constellations at entire times.
Over days (or months, depending on the celestial body), each celestial body moves across the sky, appearing in front of first one zodiac zodiac symbol, and then another. From our perspective on Terrestrial sphere, it completes one full circle once it has moved through entire twelve zodiac zodiac symbols, and starts back at the beginning.
